Technical Theatre Mentorship

Designed for students 5th-12th grade to help behind the scenes in our productions with props, costumes, sound and lights!
This a production based program, which means our youth participants will learn in a practicum style, in the moment, while working on a show.
Youth theatre artists will attain the valuable problem-solving strategies, collaborative approaches, and technical skills needed to bring a production to life on stage. All of these same skills are also both transferrable and necessary to successfully navigate the complexities of everyday life.
Students will specifically learn how to:
- build reliable, flexible and often multipurpose sets
- use a variety of practical tools to make the impossible, possible
- focus lights in unique and creative ways to establish mood and highlight a character, story, message and more
- run the light or sound board to create an overall vibe that is both seamless and enveloping for the audience
