Physical Theatre Techniques for High School

| Learn principles of physical theatre technique from Kathryn Cesarz, clown, educator, playwright and director at Cahoot Physical Theatre! Learn movement, mask, mime technique, and clown fundamentals! Work from a rigorous place, investigating ways that the body can support clear storytelling, convey emotion, and transform the space and time of the stage. These are ALL important tools for an actor, whether they work in physical theatre, or just in performance in general. Kathryn’s approach to physical theatre also invites the student to unleash the spontaneity and play within themselves when onstage. You’ll find ways to be joyful and delight in what you do – which to Kathryn, is what art making is all about. Kathryn frequently works on creator/director projects, and has performed internationally and across the US. Her first recent credit with BWTC was her clown and puppetry coaching in Water for Elephants. Favorite projects in 2025 were at St. Croix Festival Theatre playing Sherlock Holmes in Ms. Holmes, Ms. Watson, Apt. 2B and Director on Fox & Beggar’s box truck rock operetta, Tigre! Tigre!
