SUMMARY:Devising\, Writing & Creating: Bringing Your Stories to the Stage
DESCRIPTION:This 5-day camp will provide students (Gr. 3-5) with the opportunity to make a whole lot of exciting and challenging theatre. In this camp\, there are no ‘bad’ ideas\, only opportunities to explore. Students will work as an ensemble to experiment with several types of theatrical storytelling. Starting with the idea that every human being has a story worth telling\, this camp empowers students to use tools of the theatre to tell that story. This workshop will build confidence\, cultivate skills in teamwork and collaboration\, and be a playground for creativity\, critical thinking\, and unleashing one’s awesomeness. \n\n\n\nStudents will showcase their work with a performance for family and friends at 2:00 pm on Friday\, April 7th on the Blue Water stage. \n\n\n\nApril 3-7\, 2023 \n\n\n\n10:00 am – 3:00 pm \n\n\n\nStudents should bring a lunch each day. \n\n\n\nFee = $350.00 \n\n\n\nScholarships available. DESCRIPTION:Sign Up for an Audition Time \n     \n\n\n\n\n\n\n        \n        \n    \n    Actor Audition Form \n     \n\n\n\nBlue Water Theatre Company is holding auditions for its spring production of No Sympathy for the Wolf\, a new rock musical comedy by Scott Mebus. \n\n\n\nWhat if everyone ever victimized by the Big Bad Wolf pulled together to take him down once and for all? This rock musical combines fairy tales\, social commentary and catchy pop/rock to answer that question. After all\, if a group of pigs\, liars\, water fowl\, red-hooded schoolgirls and angry grannies don’t take down the biggest bully of them all\, who will? \n\n\n\nDirector: Maridee Slater\, Artistic Director \n\n\n\nMusic Director: Jim Lansing \n\n\n\nChoreographer: Mary Huebert \n\n\n\nRehearsals:\n\n\n\nRehearsals are generally Monday\, Tuesday\, and Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:30 pm and on Saturdays from 1:00-3:30 pm. \n\n\n\nPerformances:\n\n\n\nMay 25th – 27th and June 1st – 3rd at 7:00 pm \n\n\n\nMay 28th and June 4th at 2:00 pm \n\n\n\nAuditions:\n\n\n\nAuditions will be held on Monday\, March 20th and Tuesday\, March 21st from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. The theatre is on the corner of Rice St. East and Walker Ave. in Wayzata. Walk up the driveway (off of Walker Ave.) and enter the theatre through the back. \n\n\n\nTO AUDITION IN PERSON\n\n\n\n\nSIGN UP FOR A 5-MINUTE AUDITION SLOT on March 20th or 21st\n\n\n\n\n\nFILL OUT THE ACTOR AUDITION FORM (one per actor) to provide general information and indicate conflicts with the schedule. Forms must be submitted by the close of auditions.\n\n\n\n\n\nBE READY to sing 16-32 bars of a song and recite a short monologue (up to 1 minute). Consider singing a piece in the style of the show (pop/rock) and picking a comedic monologue. Not your jam? Choose something that lets you shine. Actors may sing a cappella\, play a karaoke track of their song on a cell phone\, or bring sheet music for accompaniment.\n\n\n\n\nTO AUDITION VIA VIDEO \n\n\n\n(Due by 5:00 pm on March 22nd) \n\n\n\n\nFILL OUT THE ACTOR AUDITION FORM (one per actor) to provide general information and indicate conflicts with the schedule. Forms must be submitted by the close of auditions.\n\n\n\n\n\nRECORD a short video. State your name\, sing 16-32 bars of your prepared song\, and recite your monologue.\n\n\n\n\n\nUPLOAD YOUR VIDEO to an unlisted YouTube or Vimeo link and email that link to auditions@bluewatertheatre.com. Include your name and NO SYMPATHY FOR THE WOLF in the subject line of the email.\n\n\n\n\nCall Backs:\n\n\n\nCallbacks\, if necessary\, will be held on Thursday\, March 23rd from 7:00-9:00 pm at the theatre. \n\n\n\nCasting:\n\n\n\nThe final cast list will be posted on this webpage by 9:00 am on Friday\, March 24th. \n\n\n\nTuition:\n\n\n\nTuition is $375 per youth and is due by March 30th.
