Update: Preservation, Momentum, & the Power of Gathering A Community
Dear Blue Water Theatre Community,
We want to share an important and hopeful update with you. After months of careful assessment, we now have the final numbers for a comprehensive building preservation plan — this is work that will protect our historic home and prevent major repairs for the next 15 years.
- General conditions for workers on site $7,500
- Roof and ventilation repairs $57,960
- Stucco repairs on east wall $23,810
- Remediation & demo of finishes $9,012
- New deck/ramp/railings for better accessibility $71,581
- Foundation waterproofing and drainage $64,084
- Attic insulation improvements $8,500
- Window replacement $170,847
- Exterior wall insulation improvements $73,365
- Re-stucco entire building $133,550
While the scope of a $620k investment can feel overwhelming at first glance, we feel deeply confident that together, this is something we can achieve. We have already raised $175k in donations and pledges!
We are also seeing momentum.
- Stronger relationships with grantors and associations
- New classes chosen by YOU (beginning in March)
- FULL summer camps
- New volunteers planning events in our space and locally
These accomplishments are providing real strength and stability as we move forward.
At the same time, we recognize the heaviness many across our state are carrying right now. In moments like these, spaces for healing, joy, creativity, and connection matter more than ever. Blue Water Theatre exists to be that place—a space where young people and families can gather, express, and find light together. We have seen Jungle Theatre pause their operations and it makes us even more determined than ever to preserve our home.
